About Me

Who Am I?
I have been a professional archaeologist, graphic designer, social media manager, and Subway Sandwich Artist, though I tend not to include the last one on my professional resume.
As a kid, thought I’d grow up to be an astronaut. From the list I just gave...it’s pretty clear that did not happen. I did, however, decide to specialize in 19th and 20th century burial practices in graduate school and spent quite a lot of time in historic cemeteries. The banner photo on this website is from my time spent among the dead.
In 2019, I decided to take my knowledge of public archaeology, photography, and social media management in a new direction and joined the JMU College of Science and Mathematics. While in the CSM I deepened my knowledge of content creation and project management and picked up formal training in graphic design. You still can't keep me out of a cemetery, but now I'm also often found in a chemistry laboratory or statistics classroom.
Aside from cemetery frolicking, my hobbies include reading, cultivating (and killing) houseplants, hiking, and attempting to create stained glass. I currently live in Virginia with my partner and our dog, toothless cat, and bearded dragon.
